Compression Therapy

Compression therapy assessment + recommendations

At Sole Wellness Podiatry, we provide compression therapy assessments to help improve circulation, manage swelling, reduce pain, and support venous and lymphatic conditions in the legs and feet.

Compression therapy can be an important part of managing chronic venous insufficiency, lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, or lower limb oedema, and can also help reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) during long flights or periods of prolonged immobility.

Before recommending compression, it is essential to assess arterial circulation in the legs. Understanding your arterial status helps prevent occlusion of blood flow and ensures compression is applied safely. Your podiatrist can determine the maximum level of compression that can be safely used, tailored to your circulation and condition.

During your assessment, your podiatrist will:

  • Evaluate circulation, swelling, and overall leg health

  • Assess arterial function and foot perfusion to guide safe compression levels

  • Recommend compression garments or devices suited to your needs

  • Provide guidance on correct application, fit, and wear schedules to maximise effectiveness

  • Integrate compression therapy with your broader treatment plan, including exercise, footwear, or adjunct therapies

Sole Wellness Podiatry stocks a range of compression therapy from 15mmHg through to 40mmHg.
