Vascular Assessment + ABPI (Doppler)

Vascular assessment + Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI)

At Sole Wellness Podiatry, we provide vascular assessments to evaluate blood flow to the feet and lower legs, which is particularly important for clients with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or circulation concerns. These assessments help identify areas at risk of poor healing, tissue damage, or ulceration.

The Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) is a simple, non-invasive test using a Doppler ultrasound device to measure blood pressure at the ankle and arm. Comparing these readings allows your podiatrist to determine circulatory efficiency in your lower limbs and guide appropriate treatment or referral if needed.

A vascular assessment may be recommended as part of:

  • Routine diabetes foot care, particularly if signs of arterial supply are compromised

  • Assessment of leg pain or cramping

  • Monitoring healing potential for wounds or ulcers

  • Pre-surgical evaluation

  • Assessing for suitability of compression therapy for the lower limbs

Early detection of circulatory issues allows for timely intervention, improving foot health outcomes and reducing complications.

Booking an appointment

If you are at risk of circulation problems or require a vascular assessment, book an appointment online or call the Clare Medical Centre. Your podiatrist will ensure a thorough assessment and discuss next steps for your foot and leg health.
