Nail Bracing for Ingrown Nails

How nail bracing works

Sole Wellness Podiatry uses the Brace n Fix™ nail brace system for the treatment of recurring ingrown and involuted toenails. The brace helps to guide the nail as it grows to help improve alignment and prevent it from curling inwards. This method helps reshape the nail, alleviating pressure and discomfort.

How the Brace n Fix™ is applied

  • Prepare the nail – The nail surface is roughened with a burr and thoroughly cleaned.

  • Apply primer – A primer is brushed onto the nail to help the Brace n Fix™ material bond effectively.

  • Cure primer with LED light – A special LED light is used to cure the primer on the nail before applying the brace material. Protective eye shielding is used while curing.

  • Apply brace material – The Brace n Fix™ Strong or Fluid material is placed at the base of the nail (and on the distal edge if needed).

  • Cure brace with LED light – The same LED light is used to set and harden the brace material quickly and securely onto the nail.

  • Follow‑up adjustment – Reviews are scheduled to monitor growth and reposition or touch up the brace if needed. A full treatment cycle is usually around ~30 weeks total.

What you can expect

The brace stays on the nail for a period of several months, and moves with it as it grows, helping guide a straighter, healthier nail shape. Daily activities and normal footwear can be resumed immediately.
