Medical Boot + Shoe Fittings

Medical boot + shoe fittings

At Sole Wellness Podiatry, we provide specialised fittings for medical boots and shoes, including air cast walkers, moon boots, and medical footwear. These devices are designed to protect, support, and immobilise the foot or ankle during recovery from injury or surgery, while allowing safe mobility.

Your podiatrist will assess your condition and determine the most appropriate device, including whether a shoe, ankle-height, or knee-height boot is required, if an air bladder is necessary, and whether any offloading or modifications are needed to protect or offload specific areas of your foot or ankle. They will also provide comprehensive education on the correct techniques to mobilise, and don and doff the device, ensuring safe, effective use throughout your recovery.

Medical boot and shoe fittings are suitable for a variety of conditions, including:

  • Post-surgical recovery

  • Fractures or sprains

  • Severe ankle or foot injuries

  • Chronic conditions requiring offloading or stability

  • Neuropathic wounds requiring offloading
